I live in San Jose, California with my family.   My husband is a computer geek, my daughter is a budding actor and my son is a football (soccer) fiend.  I am a writer, reader, painter, teacher and professional procrastinator.

Life has not always been this way.  Seven years ago my little Molehole moved from the UK where I spent the first 33 years of my life.  America is a big, scary place compared to little old England.  It took time to adjust.  But we have and now my kids speak with American accents and we have all accepted that American baked beans taste ‘ok’. (I will never be able to say the same for corn dogs though – yuk.)

Things that haven’t changed are my love of reading and writing.  As a kid I always had my nose in a book and this is much the same as an adult.  I wrote my first children’s book ‘Big Hand’s Gang’ when I was ten and even submitted it to a publisher.  I received a lovely personal rejection!

Nowadays I’m still writing children’s fiction.  My first love is picture books and I have written many of them in the last five years.  I am currently deep into draft two of my middle grade novel.

5 things you might not know about me:

I have skydived from 14,000 feet.

I once shared a shower with a Golden Orb spider that was the same size as a plate.

Occasionally I eat cheese before I go to bed to see if it will make me dream of wild horses (it hasn’t yet.)

My granny was part of the code crackers of Bletchley Park in World War II.

I hate fresh coriander and mushrooms (even more than corn dogs!)
